Nottawasaga Resort in Alliston has two 18 hole courses. The Ridge climbs and drops with the land, and No. 13 ends at an island green. The Valley follows the bends of the Nottawasaga River through mature forest, and its 18th has the resort as a backdrop and water on the left.
The place started with a bet. A friend wagered Lou Biffis a bottle of Canadian Club that he couldn't get a liquor license in a township dry since 1907. Biffis got a petition going, the 1967 vote went his way, and the resort is still family run. Grab a beer and a sandwich at the pro shop before you tee off.
